GENEALOGY JOURNAL

What they lived, we remember…
what we remember, we keep alive.

Leah Wade MSc

PhD Researcher, Genealogist and Historian

Every family has a story waiting to be rediscovered.

I’m professional genealogist, family historian and story collector with a passion for uncovering the lives hidden within old records. Whether following a trail through dusty parish registers, piecing together a family mystery or bringing an ancestor's world back to life, I love helping people discover the stories that shaped their family.

Born and based in Devon, I have always been inspired by the county's history, landscapes and folklore, but my research reaches across Britain and beyond. Alongside working with clients, I am undertaking a PhD exploring the history of childhood, intergenerational relationships and family life, combining academic research with a lifelong belief that history is at its most magical when it is personal.

In Devon’s fields and lanes, the past still whispers our names…

From ancient hillforts and medieval villages to quiet lanes and stories passed down through generations, Devon is a landscape rich with history, folklore and the people who shaped it.
